Objective
The Seminars are an opportunity for ballet teachers to experience a concentrated study of a method that provides a total system for the development and training of dancers from beginning to advanced and professional levels.
Although the Seminars are designed primarily for teachers and dancers considering a teaching career, all dancers would benefit from this study of the Vaganova program.

Eligibility Requirements
Minimum age: 18 years (special consideration may be extended to younger students per discretion of the Director).

Selected week(s) of study: Eligibility for enrollment in Levels III and IV is limited to those who have completed the study of Levels I and II. Eligibility for enrollment in Level V is likewise limited to those who have attended the study of Levels III and IV.

Special Note: Participation is limited to 15 students per week to ensure proper attention given to each student.

Seminar Content & Format
The Vaganova program is very carefully developed from one level of training to the next.

Therefore, full-day sessions:

Monday - 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Tuesday through Thursday - 10:00 am to 5:00 pm
Friday - 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. are intense and thorough.

Daily lecture/demonstration sessions conclude with a practical review followed the next morning by an example class based on the previous day's material.
Each class is primarily an example of a class attended by Ms. Morell in Leningrad.
In order to have a better understanding of the program and its methods, students are encouraged to participate in the classes and practical reviews.

The seminar concludes with a lecture regarding the use of music in the class, and an orientation to the music cassettes available for teaching the Vaganova program.

The documentation of the Vaganova syllabus (available at the Vaganova Seminar only) is a copyrighted version of Ms. Morell's study in Leningrad. It has been condensed to provide the reader with a concise, easy to read reference that lists the elements to be covered during the training year—inclusive of teaching recommendations, explanations regarding the goals and responsibilities for each year of training, the reasons for and purpose of each exercise, as well as the recommended time signatures and musical progressions.

In order to prevent misunderstanding or misinterpretation, the documentation of the syllabus is only made available to participants of this seminar and its cost is not included in the seminar registration fee.

It is not otherwise sold or marketed and is protected by copyright.

Ms. Morell together with her seminar pianist, Lucy Hudson, has produced music cassettes designed specifically for teaching the Vaganova program.

The Seminars will consist of full-day sessions Monday through Friday.

August 23 - 27—Levels V & VI

Seminar fees (per week per person):
$450 for single enrollment
$400 for repeat attendance (of same level)

Seminar fee must be received by June 1st
